When I first graduated from my first Degree in Education, I was taught of methods to teach like teaching through games, drama, simulation, roles play etc. Its all from teaching pedagogy. We just need to determine the general objective and the specific objectives of each lesson. Once we are able to achieve the objectives, the teaching lesson will be considered as successful.
Example: If our objective is for the students to remember all the years that are important for a certain part of history, and at the end of the lesson, students are able to remember and say it back to us, Bravo! A successful lesson!
And of course, as a qualified teachers, we too are exposed to the Maslow Hierarchy of Needs model so we will know if the basic physiological needs of our students are addressed before the start of our lesson.
The questions is, there is no one set of instruction on how we can ensure our lesson is taught in an orderly manners. Each teacher have their own preference way of teaching. Until years ago, I was exposed to in Accelerated Learning methods. Its not something new but refined by educationist throughout the years.
It was started by Dr. Georgi Lozanov in the 1970s with his research book 'Suggestopedia' which was first published in Bulgarian language. He proves that teachers can deliver their lesson more effectively just by changing their methods of teaching compared to their traditional way of teaching. With the latest technology in fMRI and the human understanding of brain functions, hardware and softwared technology development, I believe that our future generation learning experience will not be the same anymore.
Hence, we should change the way we teach. By applying Accelerated Teaching Techniques during our lesson.
I will blog on Accelerated Teaching in my next posting. Have a good day.
